Scorsese’s Shutter Island Trailer

Previously I wrote about the poster for Shutter Island and how much I was looking forward to the film (see that HERE).  The new trailer has been released and it promises what I was hoping for and more.

Scorsese is one of my absolute favorite directors, and I love how he always puts out something totally new and unexpected.  He never chooses one genre, but puts them all together into his own vision.

I won’t talk too much about the trailer because I want you to be able to develop your own impressions about it.  I’ll just say this is one of the movies I’ll be looking forward to the most this fall.  Let me know what you think!

Shutter Island will be in theaters starting October 2nd.

Martin Scorsese’s newest film endeavor, Shutter Island, has been slated for an October 2nd release date.  With one of the most popular directors of our time and an all-star cast (which includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Kingsley, Mark Ruffalo, Emily Mortimer, and Michelle Williams), this is a film that will probably dominate the theaters just as The Departed did a few years ago.

The film is based on the novel by Dennis Lehane, who wrote Mystic River and Gone Baby Gone, which were also turned into critically acclaimed films.  IMDb’s summary says the drama “is set in 1954, U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels is investigating the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane and is presumed to be hiding on the remote Shutter Island.”

The teaser poster was released this week, and the RopeofSilicon website managed to get their hands on a copy (above).
