I try to stay away from too much celebrity gossip, but some things just beg for attention.  Billy Bob Thornton is obviously best known as an actor (he even won an Oscar), but apparently he is putting that all behind him for his band, The Boxmasters.  The band appeared on Qtv, a radio show in Canada, trying to promote their new album.  However, things start off on the wrong foot and just go downhill throughout the whole show.  I don’t want to give away too much because it’s really just something you have to watch.  So watch the video above and then click Read More if you’re interested in my take on the whole thing.

Okay, so maybe Billy Bob was upset that they were referring to his acting career, and it’s perfectly understandable he doesn’t want to dwell on that because the band deserves equal attention.  But the guy pointed it out for a second, didn’t even ask any questions about it.  Instead of saying “could we move on to another subject,” or something along those lines, Billy Bob has to try to sabotage the interview.  He wants to make the DJ uncomfortable obviously, but he’s really just punishing his own band!  He’s giving them a bad reputation and taking away from their attention more than if he had just let it slide.  It’s completely selfish and juvenile for him to act like this. The band members look like they most likely agree with me.  They think they will finally get a shot at their dreams by joining up with an Oscar winning actor, but then he ends up being a mental patient.

I agree with the DJ when he says that Billy Bob has to admit they are successful because of his acting career, but Billy Bob doesn’t seem to want to acknowledge that at all.  His reaction with the comic books and building models is completely uncalled for — trying to associate what the DJ said to making music his hobby?  Then asking about first loves?  This guy needs a total psych evaluation.
