Movie Poster Released for Richard Kelly’s ‘The Box’
Richard Kelly (writer and director of Donnie Darko and Southland Tales) finally releases the movie poster for his upcoming film, The Box. The movie is based on the short story “Button, Button” by Richard Matheson (who wrote “I Am Legend”) and centers around a married couple who receive a small wooden box as a gift. They are told that by pushing the button on the box, they will receive one million dollars. The catch? Pushing the button also condemns someone to death. A person they don’t even know. They have 24 hours to decide.
It’s nice to see Kelly doing something a little different this time. The Box almost sounds like it could follow along the lines of a David Lynch film. This is one that I will definitely be looking forward to. Kelly has also said that the 115 minute long film will feature over 300 visual effects shots.
The Box stars Cameron Diaz (as you probably have guessed from her giant head hogging the entire poster) and James Marsden as the couple who receives the box. Richard Kelly wrote the screenplay and directed the movie. The Box releases October 30th.
(PS – Is it just me or did they just stick Cameron Diaz’s head on this From Hell poster? Same font and everything.)

I don’t see how you can make a whole film about this one decision. To me, it’s simple. No amount of money is worth someone’s life. Decision made, over, done, end of film in 20 seconds.

I agree, unless you completely lack human emotions, I don’t see what would be so hard about that decision. But I love Richard Kelly, so I still can’t wait!
